Beans, Beans, and More Beans

My sister and I decided to go outside and pick a few beans. Well we picked a few  and then we picked a few more. Before we knew it we had picked two ice cream buckets full and two coffee cans full. She is our little gardener, we spent most the day picking beans, and then she wanted to play in the sprinkler. Then she went out and picked a few more.

Recycled Tomato Green Houses

It’s time again to start your tomatoes, so the other day I thought I would reuse the cake thing I got from Wal-Mart. It also saved me some money from buying a small green house (and I got a cake with it). So after a week I found out that these “green houses” produce 1) Really nice seed starters, and 2) lots o’ mold. Don’t let this stop you from trying it out though. I fit about seven small peat pots in one box.

I found this stops your cat from tipping over all the plants, so I decided to invest in another cake. So while I eat my cake I will show you what I did. First go out and buy your cake. I like rocky road so that’s what I got (you can also just get a roasted chicken that comes in a similar plastic box.

Then fill up the peat pots with the dirt and seeds. Water the plants and put them in the box you selected. Wait about a week and you’ll find some little sprouts as seen below. It will have some water droplets on top and it may smell when you open it so don’t try smelling it right away.Now your done (well until it is time to plant them in the ground).
